Be kind Help put a smile on a friend’s face while showing your smile too! Be productive Complete and turn in work on time, and always do your best. Be prepared Have materials with you and be ready to learn

5 Flexible Seating Flexible seating is giving students the opportunity to create the most comfortable learning environment by choosing where they sit in the class. Research has indicated that the use of flexible seating can help students to maximize their learning potential. Students will rotate seats this week to see where they feel their best learning environment is. Students and parents should read over the contract together then sign and return them.

6 Behavior Ladder/Calendar
Super Student Great Job Good Choices Ready to Learn Think About It Teacher’s Choice Parent Contact Everyone starts on green at the beginning of each day. Students will have the opportunity to clip up (for positive choices) and down (for negative choices). Students will continue to clip up and down all day (if needed). Behavior calendars are to be colored at the end of the day and are the responsibility of the students! Please check them daily.

7 Homework and Planners Homework will be given often in 2nd grade.
Spelling contracts will be handed out each week. Students will turn in the week’s completed assignments with the contract and a Spelling folder. There will be Math homework (Study Links) assigned with our skill that was practiced in class. I encourage all students to read everyday! Read to yourself, a mirror, a family member, a friend, or even a pet! 2nd grade students will have homework planners. Spelling words will be written in the planner on Fridays. Parents/Guardians should check and sign the planner each evening for notes and homework. It is the responsibility of the students to make sure their homework is written down each day!
