4th Grade 2017 – 2018 School Year Mrs. Alhoutari is still in need of a room parent. Please see her if you are willing and able to help out.

3 Behavior Policy 2016 – 2017

5 Behavior Grades K – 5 Colors are as follows
Yellow – Powerful Panther – your child went above and beyond expectations Green – Ready to learn – They are following expectations and procedures Blue –Reflection- A bad choice was made. Reflection sheet is filled out and sent home for parents to sign and return Orange- Loss of Privilege - Student made another bad choice. This means that they will now miss out on something. This could be a few minutes at recess, etc. 3 oranges in a week is a Friday detention Red – Call home - This also an automatic Friday detention.

Red = automatic detention Detentions are every Friday Parents must park and walk in to pick up students in detention A note will be sent home to inform parent of detention

Online science curriculum Each student will be given a username and password Interactive Science workbook Supplement May be sent home as study guides, homework, or review work

14 Social Studies Texas History

15 MAP We will be taking the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test 2 times this year. The tests cover Reading, Language Arts, and Math. The goal is for each student to grow 1 ½ years on their MAP score by the end of the year.

16 Homework Writing assignment and/or Reading log Math worksheet
Should not take your child more than 45 minutes – 1 hour Please make sure that you sign your child’s planner every night so that you know what the homework is and how their behavior was for that day

17 Newsletter/website Wednesday Panther Newsletter sent home every Wednesday Newsletter will be sent home every 6 weeks with an overview of activities and curriculum. 4th grade has a grade level website that will be updated to show homework and assignments that need to be completed. While these will be fairly accurate, always default to your child’s planner for the most up to date information. Sometimes we need to adjust an assignment last minute and that will not be shown on the website
