THE ANIMALS OF THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS BY LUCY EMMA PATERSON

WHAT IS GALAPAGOS REALLY LIKE? Galapagos is a group of islands which have over time become more and more popular. Unfortunately, their presence has driven away many of the rare animals and forced some animals to become vulnerable. It’s not all nice though if you are a seal lover or shark lover as fishermen kill the seals to be able to hunt the sharks. Bringing ashore a shark would gain you $40. One man however changed from a fisherman to a diver tourist and took people under the water and if he could show them a shark, he would gain £1000 from 8 people added together.

LOOK AT THE COLOURS!

AMAZING FACTS On one of the Galapagos Islands there is a hotel and hangout building for marine iguanas. Here there is an iguana who acts like he rules the place. The locals call this male Mr. White. He thinks it’s his job to keep away any other males that may endanger his role; he does this by chasing them into the sea, and when that fails a ferocious fight occurs on the rocks where it’s unsecure and dangerous!
