2 Galapagos tortoise. The Galapagos tortoise is the largest species' of tortoise. The tortoise is the 14th heaviest reptile. The tortoise can breathe whilst swimming by extending their neck’s and can survive for months with out food or fresh water.

3 Galapagos crabs. They have an amazing ability to move on water and grow up to 20cm.

The hammerheads average size is 11.5m(3.5)long. They’re totally harmless to humans. It has the eyes on the side of the hammer and can see at a 360 degree angle so it can see above and below so it can see prey easier. Click to return to previous hammerhead.

8 Red lipped-bat fish. The red lipped-bat fish (Galapagos-bat fish) is found at the Galapagos at depths of 30m or more

9 Lava lizard. The lava lizards communicate by doing press ups.
Lava lizards have attitudes like most animals so they don’t have much fear of humans.

10 Galapagos barn owl. The Galapagos barn owl is found on all the islands except Fernandina due to the introduction of mammals such as cats. The family of this animal has been scientifically called Tytonidea.(Pronounced Tie-Tawn-E-Dee.)
