3 Isla Pinta Being a tiny island, Isla Pinta is just 60 sq kilometres in area and is home to swallow tailed gulls, marine iguanas, sparrow hawks, fur seals and many other birds and mammals. 4 Marine Iguanas Marine iguanas in the Galapagos are the most wide spread on these islands. They dive down 30m to get food and eat things such as algi. For the finches on this island one of the places to get a drink is from marine iguanas mouth. For marine iguanas, January is breeding month when it is cold and dry. Fur seals Fur seals are smaller than sea lions and have sharp eyesight. Although sea lions breath on air they are most at home in water and can stay there over a week eating fish. 5 Isla Genovesa Isla Genovesa is the best island for sea- bird watching. The birds there include: Red footed boobies Nazca boobies Swallow tailed gulls Storm petrels Tropic birds Finches Galapagos Mockingbirds Fact: Isla Genovesa is also home to hammer head sharks and sea lions which you can see when you go scuba diving.
