SNC SAM Charter The mission of the SNC Severe Accident Management (SAM) Team is to properly equip the Southern Nuclear Fleet to safely respond to Severe Accidents, and influence the regulator/industry response to the events at the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant and recent external events at US Nuclear Plants. Objectives Influencing key regulatory and industry groups responsible for shaping the policies for Severe Accidents. Developing a fleet Severe Accident Management Program that includes emergency response readiness guidelines that go beyond design basis Developing a plan, schedule and budget for implementation of the SAM changes and programmatic elements Developing and implementing a communication plan to all levels of SNC employees
