Select one hazard you know about. Discuss safe ways of dealing with this hazard together with any legislation that might be involved. Oral Presentation 20% 5 minutes max

Select one of the hazards you know about and give a short oral presentation to the class on how that hazard can be safely handled and what legislation might be involved. Do regulations exist? At what level are these regulations? How do they impact on the particular risk and its management?

 Principles of hazard identification, assessment and control.  Procedures for above.  Application of OHS legislation in the workplace.  Procedures for conducting safety audits.  Safety standards applicable to individuals area of responsibility.  The frequency at which safety audits should be conducted.  Procedures for implementing OHS improvements.  The means of rectifying given or identified hazards.

 The authority to whom recommended OHS improvements are to be reported.  Procedures for making safety improvements.  Requirements for OHS training in the individuals area of responsibility.  Objectives of OHS training.  Accident investigation procedures.  Emergency OHS procedures.  The role of the individual in carrying out accident investigations and emergency procedures....and that’s about it. Simple!
