Apprenticeships Did you know…?

You can earn while you learn… The average wage per week for an apprentice is around £170 and in some job roles up to £210 per week. “The technical training is second to none and, with a well-paid salary whilst learning, is unbeatable.” Engineering apprentice at MBDA, Andrew Fielding, 19.

3 Become a qualified professional… Apprentices receive nationally recognised Qualifications such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ), Technical Certificates and Key Skills. “Once I’ve completed the my Apprenticeship, I already know that I want to take my learning even further - perhaps progressing on to an Advanced Apprenticeship or other higher level qualifications. I’m also signing up to do a book-keeping course at college in the evenings so that I can really get to grips with my new job.” Emma Houghton, South Hutton Garage.

Enter just about any career… Apprenticeships are available in over 190 types of job roles so whether you fancy veterinary nursing, accounting, engineering, theatre or sports coaching, there will be something to suit you. “I’ve enjoyed my time at Grimsby FC and am now part of the first team which is what every player hopes to achieve when they join a club.” Ryan Bennett, Grimsby Football Club

Gain high earning potential… A level 3 Apprentice will earn on average over £100,000 more throughout their lifetime. For Level 2 this is £73,000 “I had always planned to start my own business after completing my course at College and I’ve already received several commissions.” Kate May, furniture entrepreneur and owner of Pink Whiskers, Clitheroe
