MAIN IDEAS Belief Systems The Hebrews believed in one God and tried to follow his commandments. Geography Enslaved Hebrews returned from Egypt to Canaan to reclaim land. Government Hebrew leaders (judges) attempted to rule according to their understanding of God’s laws.
