 I visited the Irvine Chamber of Commerce on March 10 th 2010, from 8:30-9:30am.  I met with: ◦ Kim Sherman Membership Services Liaison

 Since 1979, the Irvine Chamber of Commerce has been at the forefront of representing Irvine’s vibrant business community. It has grown from 156 members to nearly 1000 members over the past 30 years. It is one of the most effective business organizations in Orange County and the entire region.

 The ICC is a non-profit business organization that provides valuable benefits and services to its members.  The ICC helps its members to bridge their businesses to the community.

 1.) Increase your visibility to the community  2.) Networking opportunities  3.)Referrals from the chamber and the chamber’s web site  4.)Access to membership database  5.)Access to community leaders and elected officials  6.)Leadership development, workshops, and seminars  7.) Cost effective advertising  8.) Directory and specialty guide listings  9.)Members-only services  10.) Member advocacy

 Meets monthly on the 3 rd Wednesday at 3:00p.m.  Integrates the business community with the students of the Irvine School District through ethics forums, career days and providing speakers.  The Irvine Unified School District has been a member of the ICC since 1988.

 Offered to college students  Most are from UCI  ICC offers three types of internships: ◦ Communications department-journalism majors ◦ Economic development-business majors ◦ General Irvine Chamber internship-assists with meetings and events and around the office

 This group educates young individuals to become strong corporate, civic, and non- profit business leaders through promoting purposeful relationships within the Irvine community.  This program will focus on educational seminars, networking mixers and partnerships with local charitable organizations.

 The ICC website partners with jobing.com to provide you with the most comprehensive listing of employment opportunities throughout Southern California.  Post your resume to apply to jobs and allow employers to search for you in the database.  Anyone can create a FREE account!
