Education Opportunities Chesapeake hosts tutorials on subjects of interest to Systems Engineers and is open to both INCOSE members and non-members. In 2014 the Chesapeake Chapter held tutorials on current topics of interest to the Systems Engineer and more are planned for 2015. Communication Opportunities Chesapeake maintains communications with its members using flyers, email, and a website. You can obtain information, using the forum of your choice, and contribute in ways most convenient to you in collaborating with other Systems Engineers who are INCOSE members. 2 CHARTER ACTIVITIES  Symposiums, Conferences, Workshops, Seminars and Tutorials  Monthly meetings with presentations on Systems Engineering topics such as MBSE, Cyber Security, Energy and Power and Architecture  Certified members are available to advise and mentor systems engineering colleagues who are considering certification  Assistance for our members without employment or seeking a job transition  Chapter Working Groups include Object Oriented Systems Engineering Methodology, Program Management and Systems Engineering, and Clean Energy Systems  Annual Banquet to honor our MD Certified Systems Engineering Professionals (SEP)  Joint meetings with PMI Baltimore, IEEE, NPSS, AIAA, SAE communities The Chesapeake Chapter was formed to provide a focal point for dissemination of Systems Engineering knowledge to members in Northern and Central Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania. PURPOSE The purpose of the Chesapeake Chapter is to foster the definition, understanding, and practice of world class systems engineering in industry, academia, and government. The Chapter provides a focal point for dissemination of systems engineering knowledge, and through involvement with the International Council on Systems Engineering we: GOALS and OBJECTIVES  Ensure the existence of professional standards for the practice of systems engineering,  Improve the professional status of all persons engaged in the practice of systems engineering,  Encourage governmental and industrial collaboration and support for research and educational programs that will improve the systems engineering process and its practice, and  Promote the acquisition and exchange of information on new technology, methods and practices within the systems engineering community. Universities The Chesapeake Chapter frequently engages with local universities such as UMD-College Park, JHU, UMD-Baltimore County. These engagements take the form of Special Events, Sponsorships, and Collaborations adding value for both the chapter members and the students of the institutions. Scholarships The Chesapeake Chapter sponsors scholarships to engineering students within the greater Baltimore region. Universities The Chesapeake Chapter frequently engages with local universities such as UMD-College Park, JHU, UMD-Baltimore County. These engagements take the form of Special Events, Sponsorships, and Collaborations adding value for both the chapter members and the students of the institutions. The Chesapeake Chapter promotes activities with Industry, Government, and Academia within the Northern and Central Maryland geographical area that include: MEET US Our monthly meetings feature expert speakers lecturing on current systems engineering topics, opportunities to network, good food and interesting door prizes. Join us every 3 rd Wednesday – typically at JHU APL at 6 PM for dinner and 7 PM for the free lecture. Lectures also streamed live on www.incose-cc.org.
