A piece of land surrounded by water on 3 sides

Located in northern Europe. A very cold region that includes Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

The 2 nd smallest continent in land size. Connects to Asia.

Competition invented in Ancient Greece. Competed every 4 years. Modern Olympics are based on Greece’s ancient Olympics.

Rule by few. Government used in Sparta.

Form of government began in Ancient Rome. The citizens elect representatives who make laws and other governmental decisions

The language spoken in Ancient Roman civilization. Many English words come from Latin (have Latin “roots”)

Documents or artifacts used to study the past (history) which actually come from the time period. These include interviews, letters, newspapers, artifacts, and art.

The “borrowing” of traits from one culture by another. When cultures mix, for whatever reason, they affect each other.
