4 Rome Rome-began as a monarchy, became a republic, and finally an empire Christianity began and spread through the Roman Empire The Eastern Roman Empire fell in AD 400’s Western Roman Empire fell in 1453 to the Ottoman Turks (modern turkey)

6 Medieval Europe-500’s AD- 1350 AD Roman Catholic Church became a political power Crusades (holy wars) were sponsored by the church to take Jerusalem and Palestine from the Muslims

7 Medieval Europe-500’s AD- 1350 AD Society was dominated by Feudalism. In this society kings gave land to nobles and lords who in turn provided knights to the kings for military service

12 Modern Era Industrial Revolution-began in Great Britain in 1700’s and spread. People began using machines to produce goods. WWI-war spread across Europe involving almost all countries and killing millions WWII-War between the Allied and Axis Powers which was started by Germany under the rule of Hitler (holocaust, Atomic Bomb, Kamikazes, Cold War-Global competition between the United States and Soviet Union to dominate the world’s governments and economies.
