Welcome to the Information Meeting

 How to update student and parent information  Log on to  Locate the “PARENT/STUDENT LOGIN” section of the web page.  Login to your child’s program account using the following school code: bnhs band  The password for the account is your student’s school ID number  This will bring up the main parent page. This will allow you view the following: Public Calendar – we will use this calendar Teachers – Click to send to the Directors Handouts – Contains important forms to be turned in at various times during the school year.  Then click the Personal Info Tab:  Update all student and parent information. Be sure to click the Update button after entering your information.  Please only list addresses that you would like to use to receive s regarding band. If you list the same address in multiple fields, you will receive duplicate s.

 Marching Band (June/August –October)  Concert Band (1&2), Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble (November-May)  Jazz Band (must be enrolled in the class, only certain instruments included)  Color Guard & Winter Guard

 Athletic Exemption  NISD athletics only  Attendance at Varsity Football games and contests required, unless direct conflict exists with athletics  Requires documentation from coach/sponsor  Medical Exemption  Any condition which prohibits physical/outdoor activity  Attendance at events encouraged, based on level of restriction  Requires documentation from a physician

 Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, Colorguard  Must be able to perform at all contests (October)  Performs at all varsity football games  Rehearses up to 10 hours per week  Spots based on:  Marching skills  Music/Equipment skills  Eligibility History  Reliability/Attendance

 Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, Colorguard  Non-Competitive group (helps out at contests)  Performs at all varsity football games (with Varsity group)  Rehearses up to 3 hours per week

 Checked out & returned for each use  Never taken home!  Cleaned by volunteer committee  Wearing the uniform correctly  Accessories – LONG black socks, compression (cycling) shorts, band shirt/black t-shirt, “under armor” (cold weather)  Fitted the week of August 1-5 (Everyone)  New Uniforms coming!
