2 Band Directors: Brittney Williams – bwilliams@mckinneyisd.net
Symphonic 1 Band, Concert Band, beginning trumpet, beginning flute, beginning oboe, beginning tuba and beginning euphonium Briana Burns – Symphonic 2 Band, Concert Band, beginning bassoon, beginning clarinet, beginning trombone and beginning saxophone Chris Cass – Beginning percussion, assists with 7/8 grade perc. Aaron Renzenbrink – Beginning french horn

Also, hardcopies are available here tonight 7th/8th grade supplies remain the same (update band binder, check reeds, valve oil, etc.) School –owned instruments should be checked out by now. If you are needing a 2nd instrument for home and we have not given it to you, please let us know so we can take care of it.

4 Uniforms Everyone needs a band t-shirt (ordered through school) To be worn with jeans and tennis shoes 7/8 graders need black tux shirt (ordered through the school ) solid black dress pants solid black dress shoes (closed-toed) long, solid black socks solid black belt (if the pants have loops)

5 Grades Grades in band are earned by participation, not talent.
Practice Cards – 180 minutes a week (beginners will work up to it) due every Monday signed by a parent (Instruments should be going home every day) Sectionals – Required for symphonic 1 and 2 band students. Most all tests and objectives will be given during these times. Objectives- Everyone must pass off objectives to participate in competitions. 7/8 graders will also be graded on objectives

Contact Information MISD release of claims/permission form Band fee sheet (optional amounts due) Parent Signature Form On the Parent Signature Form, you need to sign that you completed other forms online. Emergency Contact/Medical Release Form Co-Curricular/Extra-Curricular Contract Random Drug Testing Contract (7th/8th graders only)

7 Fees and Fundraiser Option 1 – Pay everything up front
Option 2 – Pay as they are due (Fees will be posted in CHARMS so you can check your account and print a receipt. ) Band shirt – immediately Ensemble fee – February Solo fee – April Optional fees: Swim Party – immediately Donation – ASAP The Band Donation will be the only fundraiser for the entire year, if all goes well.

8 Private Lessons Private lessons are not remedial tutoring. They are for individual enrichment at any level. $20 per 30 minute weekly lesson All contact and payments will go directly through the private lesson teacher. Contact information can be found at evansband.com, and in the Band Handbook.

$5 due by Friday, Sept. 9th (money not accepted at door) Emergency Contact/Release Form must be completed Bring a designated snack No siblings allowed Parents need to pay if you are planning to eat/swim I need a few parents to help with food and drinks, plus directing students/parents. Sign up tonight!

11 What to do now? Pick up any paperwork you need. (Supply List, Handbook forms, fee sheet) Check the list posted on the windows to make sure you have turned in all the RankOne Sport forms. If not, please head to the library to fill out the online forms. Sign up to help at the Swim Party. EAT PIZZA!!! Thank you for being here tonight! 
