21 Adopt-a-Parent Find a “red shirt” parent.
Ask any question you might have Our current parents would LOVE to answer any questions you have!!

22 Any more questions? Ask any Director. We are glad to help.

23 FAQs Am I allowed to visit with my child or give them food/drink at a football game? Students get 3rd quarter off to chat and get food/drink. Beverage and food items are not allowed in the stands with the equipment. Can I talk to the Band Director(s) at games? Unless it is an extreme emergency, please hold off. Remember, we are still at work  When can I talk to the Director(s)? is the best way to get in touch with us. From there we can set-up a time to talk. What if it’s raining? Do I pick up my child? Even if it’s raining, we still have practice. We monitor weather and will plan accordingly. Sign-up for the Remind alerts.

24 FAQs How do I get involved? What if my child has special needs?
Volunteer with the band boosters and become a member. We want as much help as you can offer. What if my child has special needs? Communication is key. Let the directors know so we can make sure your student gets the best experience. Can I be a chaperone on a trip? Absolutely! Fill out a form with our Boosters How do I know stadium locations? They will be on the weekly itinerary created by Mr. Pearson, and posted on the website. They will also be in the newsletter, and remember to visit the calendar. How do I know if my child made the show? Auditions are held the first week of band camp in August to determine marching spots.

25 FAQs UIL rule…how many hours can the Band, Drum Line, and Color Guard practice? During the school week, 8 hours of rehearsal. We get 1 additional hour on performance days. Someone told me to move my car… Please avoid parking in the loading dock at all times. Use marked parking spaces in the student area or staff parking area. Why so many expenses? The expenses are for quality instruction, equipment, repairs, uniform maintenance, music arrangements, drill, costumes, transportation for trips, FOOD (the list goes on). Taking off the uniform in front of others…? Students wear compression shorts & shirt under the uniform. They also have designated dressing rooms and restrooms to change in. At no time will students be permitted to take their uniform off unless in an appropriate space.

26 FAQs When can I talk to the Director(s)!!
is the best way to contact us. Why does it take so long to be dismissed? All equipment must be put away, and uniforms hung correctly. We are a team and family. We take pride in doing everything together, including dismiss. We don’t dismiss until everything is complete (correctly) Why can’t I take my student home? When?! We travel as a group. Unless it is an emergency, let students travel together. This can also be a time when great memories and friendships are made. Why are the bleachers taped off at football games? Student groups (band, drill team) must have their locations to sit. We tape off bleachers to ensure our students have a seat. What about the Band Boosters? Join!!! Meetings are the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm. We meet in the band hall.
