Player Tryout Attendance Requirements We strongly recommend that all children trying out for Travel Basketball attend both 90 minute tryouts. If there is a conflict that prevents making one of the two tryouts, the 3 Evaluators will do their best to evaluate with one tryout, but this will put the child at a disadvantage should they have an off day. If a child misses both tryouts due to conflicts they will not be considered for a Travel Team unless there is room for an additional player on the lowest level team. The player will then be offer a spot on that team.

Handling Injuries Preventing Tryout If a child is injured and can not tryout, they are required to attend at least one tryout and sit out the activities The Evaluators led by the EC Member will do their best to place the injured player on the right team based on the evaluations from last season. If the injured player was not on a travel team last season the Evaluators will do their best to gather information on the skill level prior to the tryout. This information will be used to place the injured player on the right team. If the injury is considered serious and there is a question of returning within the WBA Season, we will only put a player on a team if there are no cuts.

Tryout Evaluation Instructions EC Member will be responsible for Player Sign-In and Jersey Assignment Each Evaluator will be provided with an Evaluation Sheet / Clipboard / Pencil prior to the 1 st Tryout. High School Coaches will be running the tryout / drills. No instruction is required from the Evaluators. Each Evaluator is required to provide player rankings after tryout #1 and share them with the EC Member who will compile the rankings. This will be useful when running tryout #2. Following Tryout #2, the 3 Evaluators will meet to create the teams. This can be done at the school or off-site.

Tryout Evaluation Instructions EC Member will have the player evaluations from last year and will bring them into play during the open discussions. Players / Parents may elect to tryout for only one team (Example – B Team Only / C Team Only) All Tryouts are closed to parents / coaches. All Discussions around Player Placement are CONFIDENTIAL and are not be shared with parents / children / neighbors / etc. You are not helping anyone by sharing.
