Registration Process ●Visit: ●Powerschool password needed in order to register. ●You must choose 35 credits, along with alternate courses in the boxes provided. Registration will not work unless you have exactly 35 credits prior to alternates. ●Pay close attention that you are choosing the right level that your teacher has recommended you for. ●If you would like to move up a class level and you’re not recommended for that level you must meet with the recommending teacher. ●Please choose your alternatives carefully as you may be placed in one or both of these courses depending on course enrollments.

Graduation Requirements English - 20 credits Mathematics - 20 credits Social Studies - 15 credits Science & Technology - 15 credits Physical Education - 10 credits Health credits World Language - 10 credits Electives - 40 credits

Graduation Requirements Classification of students: 35 credits carried each year –(ex. 7 classes, 5 credits each) 27.5 credits to be a Sophomore 57.5 credits to be a Junior 87.5 credits to be a Senior credits minimum to graduate Academic Eligibility for co-curricular/athletics: Must be passing a minimum of 5 courses and achieving at least 25 credits at the time of the final report card, as well as maintaining this standard during the season.

College Requirements Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirements for admission to four-year public colleges in Massachusetts. ●English 4 courses English 9,10,11,12 ●Mathematics 4 courses Algebra I and Algebra II, Geometry or Trigonometry, or comparable coursework, including mathematics during the final year of high school. ●Science 3 courses Three years of lab-based science, including the natural/physical sciences or technology/engineering courses. ●Social Studies 2 courses U.S. History ●World Language 2-3 courses Courses must be in a single language at the high school level. High School Transcript ● Most important piece of the college application process. ● Students should challenge themselves with their coursework. ● Freshman through Senior years ● Colleges see senior year grades. ● Only final course grades show on transcript.

GPA ● GPA is calculated at the end of the school year. ● The final grades for each school year are used to determine the cumulative GPA and class rank for all years in high school. ● Class rank is only calculated at the beginning of senior year. ● GPA is calculated based on grades earned in college prep courses. ● Grades earned in honors and AP course are given a extra with of.5 and 1.0 respectively. Class Rank ● Rank in class indicates how a student ranks in his or her class upon graduation. ● Rank is determined by a student’s grade point average. ● Students must have been enrolled in Grafton High for the last three years in order to be included in class rank. ● Transfer students can be ranked only if they have attended GHS for three full years. ● Rank in class is calculated at the beginning of senior year.
