Dual Enrollment/ ACCEL High School students take courses from a postsecondary institution while still enrolled as a high school student and receive credit at both the high school and postsecondary institution. Funding Options  ACCEL

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR College Credit Now?  High school juniors or seniors seeking a high school diploma from an eligible Georgia high school  Student reported as enrolled in a public school for funding purposes during the preceding October and March full-time equivalent (FTE) program counts  Student wishing to enroll full time in an eligible college, university or public technical college as a dual credit student taking approved college level courses.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE for MOWR? Students who are homeschooled Students who transferred from out of state within last year* Students who attend private school Students who ARE NOT on track for graduation * Dependents of military members stationed in Georgia are eligible for MOWR

Accel Changes/Least Known Facts NEW Beginning FY 14 high school graduates’ with core dual enrollment courses on their transcripts will have.5 added to the grades for GPA HOPE Scholarship calculation Weight cannot raise grade above 4.0 This does not apply to the local grade, just HOPE Scholarship 7/9/2013

APPLICATION PROCESS: 1.REGISTER to take the SAT/ACT or COMPASS Test SAT: ACT: COMPASS: Print Testing PASS on Chat Tech website 2.SUBMIT SAT/ACT or COMPASS scores to the college 3.Print and COMPLETE all parts of: KSU: DEHP Consent Form Chat Tech: ACCEL or MOWR application found on website 4. MEET with Mrs. Ream to complete course selections 5.SUBMIT completed forms & official transcript to the College 6.Student is notified by the college of acceptance

APPLICATION for FUNDING PROCESS: 1.ACCEL students: Student completes ACCEL application online at GAColllege411.org Mrs. Ream completes ACCEL application online indicating which classes will be taken and paid for through GSFC 2.MOWR students: MOWR Participation Permission form is completed by student, parents and Mrs. Ream MOWR funding set up through College’s reporting

ENROLLMENT Process 1. ATTENDS Advisement Session at the college. 2. KSU: 1. BRINGS a copy of PROPOSED college schedule to Mrs. Ream for approval 2. REGISTERS for Fall classes at the college 3. BRINGS a copy of college schedule to Mrs. Ream immediately 3. Chat Tech: 1. TAKES copy of APPROVED college schedule to advisement 2. REGISTERS only for APPROVED Fall classes at the college 3. BRINGS a copy of college schedule to Mrs. Ream immediately 4. Students CANNOT change or drop classes without permission from Mrs. Ream 5. After final exams, an official transcript is sent to Mrs. Ream. (through Registrar’s office.)

Participation Process 1.Students CANNOT change or drop classes without permission from Mrs. Ream and ONLY during colleges’ Drop/Add period 2.Students MUST attend all college classes and may not be on AHS campus during school day unless in a class at AHS 3.Students follow College’s Calendar for classes – College’s Spring Break 4.Students are responsible for getting AHS information given during the school day 5.Students must take all required GHSWT and EOCTs at AHS 6.Students must maintain contact with Mrs. Ream via text and 7.All grades are put on the AHS transcript exactly as reported by the college 8.Notice: Parent is not mentioned on this page
