 VEHICLE IN MOTION 1.RIGHT FOOT BRAKE 2.RIGHT HAND GEAR SELECTOR 3.RELEASE PARKING BRAKE 4.CHECK TRAFFIC 5.TURN SIGNAL 6.BLIND SPOTS MBB 7.GENTLY ACCELERATE HEEL OF RIGHT FOOT BRAKE ACCELERATE SEPERATELY

 ACCELERATION –  RATE OF ACCELERATION –  RATE OF DECELERATION – HIGHER SPEED THE MORE TIME IT TAKES TO ACCELERATE AND TO DECELERATE 50 MPH = FT 60 MPH = FT MONITORING SPEED  QUICK GLANCES SMOOTH BRAKING  FOOT PRESSURE  USE TOES NOT BALL OF FOOT SPEED CONTROL

 THRESHOLD BRAKING – DRIVER FIRMLY PRESSES THE BRAKE PEDAL TO A POINT JUST BEFORE THE WHEELS LOCK  STARTS TO SKID – RELEASE PRESSURE SLIGHLY, THEN ADD PRESSURE AGAIN  ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) – DESIGNED TO KEEP WHEELS FROM LOCKING WHEN DRIVER BRAKES SUDDENLY EMERGENCY BRAKING

 CALLED “STICK SHIFT”  CLUTCH – 3 RD FOOT PEDAL STARTING ENGINE  BOTH FEET – PARKING BRAKE SET  CLUTCH AND BRAKE – SHIFT TO NEUTRAL  START CAR MANUAL TRANSMISSION

 FRICTION POINT – ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ENGAGE  MOVE ONE GEAR AT A TIME (3 OR 5 SPEED)  SHIFTING INTO A HIGHER GEAR  DOWNSHIFTING  STOPPING CLUTCH AND GEARSHIFT

 HAND PLACEMENT  TRACKING – (20-30 SECONDS AHEAD)  HAND OVER HAND VS PUSH-PULL-FEED STEERING STEERING A VEHICLE
