Welcome Back!!!! Mrs. Coleman’s Class

Classroom Rules Be prompt: Enter class on time and be in your assigned seat when the bell rings. Read the classroom objectives and agenda, record homework in your agenda book, and begin your journal writing.

Classroom Rules Be Respectful to all persons within our classroom. This includes yourself, classmates, teachers (or substitute), and any visitors/guests.

Classroom Rules Be Prepared for class EVERYDAY! Being prepared includes having your agenda book, homework, writing materials, binders, folders, and journal. Frequent lack of being prepared for class will result in disciplinary action.

PHONE USAGE ABSOLUTELY NO PHONE USAGE DURING CLASS TIME UNLESS THE TEACHER GIVES PERMISSION!!! Once class begins, phones must be put away! You will only be given ONE warning. If the teacher needs to speak to a student about the phone for a second time, the student will be written up.

FTCA Failure to complete assignment All assignments must be completed by the assigned deadline. Failure to follow this rule will result in an academic detention on the FIRST day the assignment is late. For long-term assignments, 10 percentage points will be deducted from the final assignment and you will also be assigned an academic detention.

What will we be studying? Roman and Gothic Literature (Frankenstein) Short Stories/Literary Elements Possible Novels: Scarlet Letter/Of Mice and Men Citing Textual Evidence Free Friday Readings/AOWs

What supplies are needed? A 1-2 inch three-ring binder, college-ruled loose-leaf paper, and dividers Pens, pencils, post it notes, and highlighter Journal or Marble Composition Book Flash Drive and an address (if you cannot print something out you must it to me…NO EXCUSES) All supplies must be in class no later than 9/8/14
