Welcome to the German Aerospace Center (DLR) DLR, the German Aerospace Center, is Germany‘s national research center for aeronautics and space. Its research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport, defense and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures DLR employs 7300 people; the Center has 32 institutes and facilities at 16 locations in Germany (see In the financial year 2011, DLR’s budget for research and operations amounted to roughly 796 million Euro, of which about 55 percent came from competitively allocated third-party funds. The DLR Site at Oberpfaffenhofen The DLR site at Oberpfaffenhofen is one of Germany's largest research centers. The site is home to eight scientific institutes and currently employs approximately 1500 people.
