What is Early College An early college is designed so students can possibly earn both a high school diploma and an Associate’s degree or up to two years of credit toward a Bachelor’s degree or a career certificate. Provides another opportunity for high school students to earn college/career credit. Advanced Placement, Cambridge, and dual-enrollment courses give many students the opportunities to take college-level courses and earn college-level credit. This opens another door. Fully integrates students’ high school and college experiences, both intellectually and socially; Blends the curriculum as a coherent unit, with high school and college-level work melded into a single academic program that meets the requirements for both a high school diploma and, potentially, an Associate’s degree; and Students obtain college credits through the postsecondary institution and enables students to accumulate the credits toward a degree from that institution or to transfer them to another college.

Target Group We want to grow the number of students who can obtain a postsecondary certificate or degree This is appropriate for students who: Want to be more prepared for college, Want to prepare earlier for careers, Want to experience college without being away from home, Are a first time college going family member
