3. Requirements: Entering in 9 th or 10 th grade with a 3.0 GPA Benefits: The chance to earn up to 8 industry certifications in computer areas. The Computer Magnet started in 1995. John I Leonard High School was one of the three high schools selected by the Department of Education in 1988 as a Model Technology School. We have over 700 computers in classrooms, 15 computer labs, and 9 mini labs, campus wide access to the Internet and Microsoft office 2010 and 2013, content area software for science, math, and reading college and career databases, and programming languages including visual basic C++, C#, Objective C, and Java.

5. The Finance academy had 70 students last year. The first finance class graduated in 2009 The Academy gives high school students an opportunity to learn about and prepare for college careers in business and finance. Importance is placed on a college curriculum that is directly linked to the business world.

7. Description: In partnership with Palm Beach State Collage and JFK Medical Center, JIL's academy students will be fully dual enrolled by senior year and will be licensed Medical Assistants as well as jump started toward a Respiratory degree by graduation. Curriculum: College preparatory curriculum with level science courses including: Biology Honors, Advanced Placement Anatomy and Physiology, Health Science II, Honors Chemistry, Hospital Clinical, and Dual Enrollment.

9. This academy centers on academic classes taught in both English and Spanish. ISA (International Spanish Academy) is a collaboration between the School District of Palm Beach County and the Ministries of Education and Science of Spain. Students will become bilingual and bi-literate with a global perspective.
