12 th grade – Class of 2016 English – 4 credits Math – 4 credits Science – 4 credits Social studies – 3 credits (World Geog./Hist., Economics, Government, US History) Foreign Language – 2 credits Finance – ½ credit Wellness – 1 credit Fine Art – 1 credit PE – ½ credit Elective Focus – 3 credits (Fine Arts, Humanities, Math & Science, AP, Exercise & Safety, Dual Enrollment, Career/Technical) – This is ABOVE graduation requirements, with the exception of DE and AP.

GRADUATION RECOGNITION With HONORS ACT benchmarks English 18 Math 22 Reading 22 Science Reasoning 23 With DISTINCTION - must have a 3.0 and one of the following: Participate in Governor’s School Participate in All-State National Merit Finalist/Semifinalist ACT of 31 or higher Attain a 3 or higher on at least two AP exams Earn 12 or more semester hours postsecondary credit Students must complete an application for this by April 15 of the senior year!

Rising seniors must… Be enrolled in English, math, science, government & economics – ½ credit each PLEASE NOTE: AP economics and AP government will be a 1 credit, 1 block course Be in good academic standing, be enrolled in five core academic courses to sign up for TA. Only 1 TA position is allowed per year.

CTE HEALTH SCIENCE/SCIENCE ARTICULATION Students must have 4 years of science education in Maryville City Schools, one course each year (even if they double up.) The only CTE Health Science course that may count for a senior year requirement science credit is Clinical Internship. This is only if the student has 3 credits from the science department curriculum.

SENIOR PROGRAMS Senior Transition Internship/Independent Project DE College Success 1500

College Success 1500 This is a course designed to empower students to reach their educational, career and life goals. This class introduces students to a wide range of strategies, techniques and self-management tools commonly recognized to lead to success. It is a course for college-level credit and is designed to transfer. Students will receive college credit from Pellissippi for passing this course. Tuition will be paid by the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant. In order to receive the grant for this course, students must have a minimum of a 2.0 unweighted gpa and a minimum of 13 on each section of the ACT.
