3 Why take the AP Exam? Earn college credit and/or advanced placement Save $ For example PSU charges $601 per credit -- a 3 credit course costs is $ Important factor in college scholarship decisions Many colleges outside the US recognize AP Exam results .

6 AP Scholars Recognition In 2016, State High had:
22 students who received the National AP Scholar Award an average grade of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams 60 students who received the AP Scholar with Distinction an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams 33 students who received AP Scholar with Honor an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams 41 students who received AP Scholar grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams

7 National Trends in AP Greater numbers of tests given
More tests given earlier- 9th and 10th Selective colleges considering test scores as admissions data National rankings see AP as evidence of college readiness

8 AP Audit Progress 11th year of implementation
Courses with AP designations were approved or renewed through audit process with the College Board. All State High AP courses and teachers are listed on the National Register for college admissions offices.
