Grading Policy A committee, chaired by the Superintendent, was established in August to create a grading policy to meet the unique needs of students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The purpose of this policy is to communicate and document the achievement status of students. Grading provides information for student’s self-reflection, incentives for students to learn, factors to identify certain educational paths or programs for groups of students, and documentation of student performance to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs. In addition to the Superintendent, the committee consists of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction and Technology, the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Policy, five principals, two teachers, one service personnel, three parents, and one student. The committee meets on a monthly basis.
