UNIT 5: Political Parties!  Political parties- organization of individuals with COMMON interests who organize to win elections, operate the government, INFLUENCE policy

United States has a… Two major political parties, third parties have run but rarely win

Did these come from the Constitution?  NO!  No mention of political parties  George Washington was against the idea
