Presentation transcript:

As the world is changing, evolution and growing generations are taking a big part of the educational and economical system. The rate of university graduates is growing at a fast rate and the standard requirements for job opportunities are multiplying. All candidates on a job hunt are adversaries in a qualification competition. This is where knowing how to market yourself and to state the importance of social networking and cultural knowledge takes part.

Get to know your interests and skills Create a professional armed résumé according to your skills and experiences Dress to impress Charm your way to the top Be open minded Use proper body language and be aware of its implications Be aware of the country’s culture Network for contacts and references Be prepared, relax and breath, it’s only an interview, you are ready Follow up and keep an update

For any company to distinguish your qualities from the rest of the rivalry, you must, first and foremost : have an armed résumé that will catch their attention show off your profile to the world by networking Once you have succeeded at charming your way to an interview: personal presentation takes its ground. Dress to impress! Be aware of your body language globally, the values, the culture and the body language differ, learn them!

What do you like? What are you good at? Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

Information you need in your resume Choosing a format Adding Style

Research the job you are aiming to achieve Dress appropriately for the job Women Skirt or pant suit (Blue, Gray, Brown, Black) Neutral Colored blouse Avoid overbearing jewelry Low heeled shoes (Never open toed) Keep makeup to a minimum Have well groomed hair Manicured nails Men Well tailored suit (Navy blue, Black, Gray) Solid colored socks Leather shoes Trimmed Facial Hair Well groomed hair

Stand out to be remembered and recognized Use small talks to keep the listener’s attention Fascinate them with your charm and simplicity

Be open to negative feedback and criticism to grow further. Be opened to different cultures and ideologies. You may think you know, but keep your eyes open! “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” ~Socrates

Be aware of the following body language give-aways*: Posture Movement and Gestures Eye Contact Hands and Arm Positioning Tone of Voice Facial Expressions Space *Body language differ from culture to culture, make sure you know which culture you are speaking to!

Tips: Get to know the language and body language Making messages relevant and understandable Consider that what may engage and interest you might offend another Keep it short and simple Small acts of kindness can demonstrate empathy and concern Fun fact : A firm handshake is not always appreciated It will be appreciated by the german and the swiss. It will be hated by the french and the italian. The brits might just think you are a real bore!

Start with an introduction Speech Build a relationship Distinguish yourself from others Have your contact information ready Tips Never stop looking for contacts ( each week ) Talk to the teachers about their areas. (Important) Just ask for information, you’re not there to sell to anyone, NEVER ask for a job. Give your business card when the moment is opportune.

Be aware of your body language Dress in consequence Listen more than talk Be confident… but not too much! Answer and ask relevant questions

Don’t give up after the first try! “When the world says, "Give up," Hope whispers, "Try it one more time." ~Author Unknown
