What YOU Need to Do Eligibility Requirements You must be a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) to apply. Join now.Join now You may apply for one scholarship annually. If you have previously received a Family Medicine Leads Scholarship, you are not eligible to apply for the same scholarship again. To apply for a student scholarship you must be a medical student during the academic year. You are not eligible to apply for a student scholarship if you will graduate before July 1, You must be able to attend the entire National Conference. You must agree to the Family Medicine Leads Scholarship Terms of Agreement (1 page PDF attached). The Emerging Leader Institute Purpose: To identify future leaders of family medicine Program Period: July 28, 2016 to July 31, 2017 Funding: $1,000 provided to attend BOTH the National Conference AND the Emerging Leader; Up to $3,000 possible at the end of the program period Attend post-conference training event with three possible tracks: –Policy & Public Health Leadership – Personal, & Practice Leadership –Philanthropic & Mission-Driven Leadership. Implement a year long research project with an assigned mentor

Don’t Reinvent the Wheel! For your application, you must develop a potential research project idea for each of the three tracks: –Policy & Public Health Leadership – Personal, & Practice Leadership –Philanthropic & Mission-Driven Leadership. **If you are already working on a project for a class, tweak it to fit each of the three tracks instead of coming up with a completely different project idea for each track.
