2 Alliance Leadership Middle Academy is a member of Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, a network of 27 free, public charter middle and high schools that educate more that 11,000 students across Los Angeles. Founded in 2004 with the simple conviction that every student can graduate from high school and succeed in college, Alliance schools send 95% of graduates on to college. Alliance schools prove that exceptional education can be the rule. For more information about Alliance, visit www.laalliance.org.www.laalliance.org

3 The mission of Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, a nonprofit charter management organization, is to open and operate a network of small high-performing 9-12 and 6-8 public schools in historically underachieving, low income communities in California that will annually demonstrate student academic achievement growth and graduate students ready for success in college.

4 1. High Expectations for All Students Our challenging, standards- based curriculum is premised on the belief that all students can perform at high levels. 2. Small Personalized Learning Environments Our students thrive in personalized learning environments, where they develop close relationships with teachers and all adults in the building. 3. Increased Instructional Time Our schools feature extended class days, with many courses taught in uninterrupted two-hour blocks. Our school year lasts 190 days, 10 days longer than that of the Los Angeles Unified School District. 4. Highly Qualified Educators Our educational leaders participate in extensive leadership and training programs, and receive compensation incentives tied to their school’s performance. 5. Parents as Partners Learning should not end once the school day is over. We ask parents to be meaningfully engaged in their children’s education.
