It is important to notice the condition of the scalp because if there are any open wounds or scalp irritation it is important that the client sees a physcian

Balancing Strengthening Dry A ph- balance shampoo is balanced to the pH of skin and hair. These shampoos help prevent excessive dryness and hair damage during the cleaning process Conditioning shampoo is also known as moisturizing shampoo . This is designed to make the hair appear smooth and shiny and to improve manageability. Protein and biotin are examples of condition agents that boost shampoos. Also these conditioners are non stripping meaning they don’t remove artificial color from the hair. Medicated shampoo contains special ingredients that are very effective in reducing dandruff or relieving other scalp conditions. Some have to be prescribed by a physician. These sometimes affect hair that has been colored treated Clarifying shampoo contains an active chelating agent that binds to metals and removes them from the hair. Helps retain moisture and makes hair more manageable. This shampoo should be used after swimming and prior to all chemical services Balancing shampoo is good for oily hair and scalp. Strengthening shampoo contains a variety of strengthening and nourishing ingredients and is designed to repair damaged and brittle hair. Dry shampoo are used for clients who might find the shampooing process difficult or uncomfortable. This type of shampoo is a powder that removes oil and dirt from the hair as it is brushed or combed through

Color enhancing Keratin protein enhanced For hairpieces and wigs Sulfate free shampoo has little to no alkaline soap base which helps maintain natural oils in the hair Shampoos for thinning hair are usually formulated to be gentler and have a lighter molecular weight that encourages a clean environment for healthy hair growth. These shampoos contain volume boosting ingredients that give the illusion of volume and density. Neutralizing shampoo is designed to rebalance the ph level of your hair by neutralizing any alkali unwanted residues in the hair. It Helps return hair to a normal ph after a chemical interaction. Color enhancing shampoos are created by combing the surfactant base with a basic color pigment. This is similar to temporary color rinses because it is attracted to porous hair and results in only slight color changes that are removed with plain shampooing . Shampoos with keratin contain added keratin to help strengthen the hair as it cleanses. The shampoo is manufactured with artificial protein that cling to the natural protein in the hair Shampoos for hairpieces ad wigs are prepared solutions designed for the purpose of cleaning wigs. .

Is a conditioner that promotes healing of the scalp Scalp astringent lotion removes oil accumulation from the scalp and is used after a scalp treatment and before styling

Protective neck strip When draping a client it is important to use a protective neck strip or towel between the neck of the client and the band of the cape Shampoo drapes are used when the client has a shampoo and styling or shampoo and haircutting service When applying the drape turn clients collar inward if applicable. Two terry cloth towels are placed on the client. One under the plastic cape and one over the cape A chemical draping is used for clients who will have a chemical service or treatment such as haircoloring, permanent wave or chemical hair relaxing.
