Her older sister Mary always held a grudge against her as Elizabeth was seen as a legitimate child and she was not She was close to her younger brother Edward who also a protestant Other disputes were brought about between the two who argued over religious beliefs Mary was a Roman Catholic, while Edward and Elizabeth were protestants Siblings

10. Elizabeth came into power after her older half sister passed away (Her sister was well known as Bloody Mary.) Her younger brother having died years before. Her leadership was often regarded as similar to her father. England always came first in her eyes, because of this she never got married and was forever remembered as The Virgin Queen. She was crowned on November 27, 1558 and ruled until her death day on March 24, 1603.

11. During her rule, England was often religiously divided. This created problems with neighbouring countries. The most dominant argument was with Spain after they received permission from the Pope to try to revert England back to a Roman Catholic Country. Many people believed the only reason the Spanish got involved was because of the death of Queen Mary who was married to King Phillip II. This war was known as the Spanish Armada

12. Upon her death in 1603, the throne was passed along to her cousin James VI. This was because Elizabeth had produced no heirs. He belonged to the house of Stuarts who ruled over Scotland at the time.

14. Elizabeth was a huge fan of the theatre. She often donated money to writers so they could continue creating plays. Her involvement in the arts made her a well rounded person. She enjoyed writing as well as performing, and was often content to watch numerous plays. A favourite pass time of hers was to visit the Globe Theatre.

15. A favourite writer of hers was none other then William Shakespeare. She funded numerous amounts of his works. In total she saw 32 of his plays.

17. The Virgin Queen was probably the greatest ruler of England besides King Arthur himself. Though many centuries have passed she remains in the hearts of the British as a sign of peace and hope. Her love for her country never faltered and for that she will always be remembered.
