1 Paper Towel Testing Jacob and Leon

2 Absorbency and Wet strength explanation We did this experiment because we are trying to find the paper towel that is the best towel overall. Currently, we have Bay West. Throughout this presentation, we will be trying to persuade you to change your mind of which paper towel you should buy for this school. We will do this by doing three tasks. These three tasks are absorbency, wet strength, and cost. In the absorbency test, we will find which one can suck up the most water. This will help decide which paper towel is the best because when cleaning up a spill, you want to get it done with less paper towels. We did the wet strength test because we wanted to find which paper towels can hold the most weight when wet. We will put objects on the paper towel when we wet it until the paper towel breaks. This will help us decide which paper towel is best because when cleaning, you want a paper towel that doesn’t break.

3 Absorbency Procedure/Hypothesis 1.Get materials (graduated Cylinder, paper towel, ect.) 2.Pour water into graduated cylinder up to 100 ml. 3.Set timer to ten seconds. 4.Cut paper towel to 5.5 by 5 inches. 5.Roll up 6.Dip in water for ten seconds (on timer.) 7.Let it drip into graduated cylinder. 8.Record data in ML. 9.Repeat steps 4-8 three times. 10.Switch to different paper towel brand 11.Repeat steps 4-10 until done 12.HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!! One person thought paper towel D(Bounty) because it was soft and smooth. The next person’s hypothesis was paper towel C (Kroger Home Sense) because it was soft and rather thick.

9 Conclusion After all our tests, we recommend Kroger Home Sense, since it got the most points(11). Although it didn’t win a test, it was the most solid in all the tests. To remind you, Kroger Home Sense blew Bay West away in the Wet Strength Test by about 15 oz. In the absorbency test, Kroger Home Sense got more than four times more then Bay West in Ml.
