When a manager is more of a controlling manager and is very strict or rules based. This type of management works best in a top down approach It works best with unskilled or part time managers Usually high turnover rates exist

This type of manager is more “hands off”. Their goal is to keep motivating workers by either offering rewards or promotions. They are effective with “self starters” They are effective with professionals. Their weakness is a lack of discipline.
