3 Diary Mary-Anne

4 Its hard. It really is. Every day we have to find, how we can survive the next day. We do not have any food, we do not have any fuel. Mother has such a strong personality, but its painful for her, too. Today, my only ray of light was Abraham. Ive seen him at the standpipe. In my dream, Abraham and I live in a big house, with a lot of animals and especially food. I really dont want to starve to death. 28.04.1950

5 01.05.1958 Today was one of the best days in my life. Abraham asked me to marry him. Although my parents cant give so much dower, he said that he loves me. I hope, everything will be good now.

7 It was exhausting today, I didnt understand anything in school. I couldnt concentrate, because my friends forced me into speaking with them. I really wanted to listen to the teacher, but I couldnt. My friends told me that Im a nerd…I dont know what I should do..my last English test was the worst Ive ever written. My so called friends thought its cool, but my parents will kill me. Im afraid to tell them. Its so important for my mum and my dad, that I have good marks. Lifes difficult It was exhausting today, I didnt understand anything in school.
