2 Defination A nanometer is a billionth of a meter. Itís difficult to imagine anything so small, but think of something only 1/80,000 the width of a human hair. Ten hydrogen atoms could be laid side-by-side in a single nanometer.  Nanotechnology is the creation of useful materials, devices, and systems through the manipulation of matter on this miniscule scale. The emerging field of nanotechnology involves scientists from many different disciplines, including physicists, chemists, engineers, and biologists. There are many interesting nanodevices being developed that have a potential to improve cancer detection, diagnosis, and treatment.

4 Challenges of Nanotechnology
With advanced electronics and communication fear to privacy. With Bio-nanotechnology fear of biological weapons. Environmental problems, waste of nano industries will not be easy to decompose. Genetic engineered crop require strong pesticides and insecticides. With advancement in medical death rate will reduce it means increased population and then there will be shortage of food.

6 GENETIC ENGINEERING with nanotechnology
For centuries, humans have altered plants and animals by selective reproduction. As a result, we have a wide range of domestic animals and plants grown for food. Direct genetic modification is a relatively new process based on a set of technologies that alter the genetic makeup of living organisms, including animals, plants, bacteria, or fungi by inserting genes rather than using cross-breeding and selection techniques. The purpose of the modification of the genes is to derive certain benefits. movie

7 Applications Scientists have worked on some interesting combinations:
Spider genes were inserted into goat DNA, in hopes that the goat milk would contain spider web protein for use in bulletproof vests. Jellyfish genes lit up pigs' noses in the dark. Artic fish genes gave tomatoes and strawberries tolerance to frost. Field trials have included: Corn engineered with jellyfish genes (Stanford University) Rice engineered with human genes (Applied Phytologics) Corn engineered with hepatitis virus genes (Prodigene) Potatoes that glowed in the dark when they needed watering.

8 Ethical Issues Like every technology bio-nanotechnology is having some negative impact on word which need to be resolved first before taking the benefit from it, and these are. Uncontrolled genetic results or mutation. New business controversies. the genetically modified organisms remains stable in artificial condition inspite of natural environment. Sex ratio may vary because of selection of sex. Nature is more perfect designer. Cloning reduces genetic diversity. Cloning will be psychologically harmful to the child. Cloning will be physically harmful to the child.

11 Genetic Disorder With genetic engineering there are chances of genetic disorder means it will end the all genetic information and species because it is difficult to survive against the nature.

13 GM FOOD Genetically modified crop demand more strong pesticides and insecticides which harm the ground water and get involved in our food chain and then causes human disease.
