Direct heating system ECOFLOOR Installation guide

DIRECT HEATING SYSTEM ECOFLOOR - FOR NEW BUILDING APPLICATIONS heating mat or heating cable is placed into flexible cement (glue), on 5 cm concrete layer. power density is used from 100 W/m 2 (for habitable rooms with limited floor temperature) up to 160 W/m 2 (for bathrooms, laundries and no good heat- insulated floors) very good and easy temperature control floor heating is possible to combine with el.convectors or radiant panels

DIRECT HEATING SYSTEM ECOFLOOR - FOR RECONSTRUCTION APPLICATIONS modern floor heating with high level temperature controls heating mat or heating cable is placed into thin layer of flexible cement (glue), on concrete layer or origin tiling. power density is used according to type of room (100 W/m 2 or 160 W/m 2 )

ADVANTAGES OF DIRECT FLOOR HEATING quick reaction to the changes in the user‘s heat requirements (warming of floor up to 20 min) very good, accurate and easy temperature control suitable for renovated floors with limited construction height

ECOFLOOR INSTALLATION at first choose the right floor heating application (storage, semi-storage or direct heating ) calculate the heating loses, total heating output should be greater 10-20 % then calculated heating loss According to type of room choose an appropriate heating density: - permanentaly occupied rooms up to 100 W/sqm - rooms occupied for short periods (bathrooms, - toilets) up to 160 W/sqm - laminated floors up to 80 W/sqm - wooden floors up to 60 W/sqm

INSTALLATION NOTICES minimum distance of floor heating system from walls and fixtures like bath, shower or toilet is 5 cm. the heating cable may never be shortened or cutted !!! (only the cold connection lead)

INSTALLATION NOTICES Heating cables must not be crossed and must not be intersected each other. Minimum distance between heating cables is 3 cm the connector between the cold connection and heating cable needs to be install in straight stretcht (never be installed at a bend!) the heating cable may never pass over an expansion joint

EXPANSION WHY: the floor construction expands when temperature rises and must be furnished with expansion elements to prevent the floor construction being stressed ( tiling could be damaged, base layer cracked and peeled etc.) Expansion is necessary to provide: into place around the room‘s circumference, where floor heating will be used.( The whole floor construction must be a floating construction !) expansion is necessary to provide for rooms with area  25 m 2 and for diagonal  7 m.

Expansion joints the choice of expansion joints depends on room‘s shape and structure - rooms with „L,Z,or T“ shapes should be divided into rectangular or squere sections Expansion joint must not be discontinued and for cementation process is recomended flexible cement ECOFLOOR heating cables and mats may never cross the expansion joints ! If the cold connections pass the expansion joints, they must lay freely within protective tubes

Heating mat/cable ECOFLOOR laying to the flexible cement (glue) –new building 1. On the base(1)place thermal insulation (2)– expanded polystyrene at least or extruded polystyrene of min. thickness 5 cm 2. Place the steel reinforcement (3)to harden the concrete layer. Place the concrete layer 5 cm thick(4) 3. Penetrate the concrete layer. ECOFLOOR cables/mats (6) place into flexible cement (5). 4. Measure el parameters of heating system and lay the tiles. (7)

Heating mat/cable ECOFLOOR laying to the flexible cement (glue) – floor reconstruction 1.Clean and penetrate the original tiling 2.Into flexible gluing cement place the ECOFLOOR heating cables/mats 3.Measure the parameters of heating cable/mat 4. Laying of new tiles

Other possibility of ECOFLOOR laying Wooden floor construction

Other possibility of ECOFLOOR laying Plasterboard floor construction

Other possibility of ECOFLOOR laying Construction with self-levelling cement

INSTALLATION OF ECOFLOOR HEATING CABLE CIRCUIT ADSL1P COMFORT DIRECT FLOOR HEATING UNDER TILES ADSV Heating cable circuit (double conductor with 1 connection lead „cold tail“ 1. Control measuring 2. Grooving for thermostat floor probe 3. Floor base cleaning and penetration 4. Floor probe installation 5. Fixation of el.conncector 6. Installation of Heating cable circuit 7. Control measuring8. Thin layer flexible cementing (glueing) 9. New tiling

INSTALLATION OF ECOFLOOR HEATING MAT LDTS COMFORT DIRECT FLOOR HEATING UNDER TILES LDTS Heating mat (double conductor with 1 connection lead „cold tail“ 1. Control measuring 2. Grooving for thermostat floor probe 3. Floor base cleaning and penetration 4. Floor probe installation 5. Heating mat laying 6. Mat sticking to the floor base by its self- adhesive tape 7. Control measuring8. Thin layer flexible cementing (glueing) 9. New tiling 6. Heating mat installation

FLOORING MATERIAL The most suitable for ECOFLOOR systems: ceramic tile, marble, natural stone Other suitable: Laminate floating and wooden parquet floors PVC without a rubber base Special carpets without rubber base recommended by their manufacturers for use with floor heating Unsuitable !!!: Carpets with pile more than 10 mm thick or with a rubber base PVC with a rubber

Electrical installation ECOFLOOR heating cable/mat has to be connected to the el.net just by a qualified person accordance with the manufacturer´s instructions The total take-off (Amps) of heating mat/cable must never exceed the maximum value of thermostat switched current

For floor heating are suitable following thermostats: Fenix Therm 100 Eco M/z1 Microline OCD 1999 H Eberle Instat 8 TEMPERATURE CONTROLS Fenix Therm 100

Thermostat connection (thermostat with floor probe) L – phase (el.supply) N – neutral (el.supply) L’ –phase (Ecofloor) N’ – neutral (Ecofloor)

Electrical installation directly throught the thermostat

Electrical installation throught the el.box and contactor (1 thermostat controls 2 Ecofloor units (cables/mats) through the contactor to prevent thermostat switch current overloading)

Direct heating ECOFLOOR Modern and comfort floor heating system
