2 Clara buys food everyday. → Food is bought by Clara. Susan is cooking dinner. → Dinner is being cooked by Susan. James Joyce wrote "Dubliners". → “Dubliners” was written by James Joyce.

3 Quando o sujeito da voz passiva é you, one, they, people, someone/somebody etc., ele não aparecerá como agente da passiva They were painting the house when I arrived. → The house was being painted when I arrived. They have produced over 20 models in the past two years. → Over 20 models have been produced in the past two years.

4 They are going to build a new factory in Portland. → A new factory is going to be built in Portland. I will finish it tomorrow. → It will be finished tomorrow. Max and Gabriel had taken the bus. → The bus had been taken by Max and Gabriel (them).

5 Give, send, tell, show, ask, call e lend podem ter objeto direto e indireto Joe sent a letter to Monica. → Monica was sent a letter. → A letter was sent to Monica. My father gives her money. → She is given money. → Money is given to her.

6 Pay attention! People say... = It is said that... People know... = It is known that... People think... = It is thought that... Ex.: People say tomorrow will rain. → It is said that tomorrow will rain.

7 Quando o sujeito for Nobody ou No one, a voz passiva será negativa Nobody is eating the food. → The food is not being eaten. No one brought presents. → Presents weren’t brought.
