Articles of Confederation  Weaknesses No executive or judicial branch Congress could not enforce laws Trade between states was difficult because the national gov’t (Congress) had no power to regulate/make laws about trade No national currency Congress could not tax-this means no services Country had bad credit. Congress couldn’t tax so we couldn’t pay back loans Could not make laws unless 9 out of 13 states agreed Any attempt to amend the articles all 13 states have to approve States pretty much can do whatever they want
