4. Direct Object Pronouns with an Affirmative
Informal (Tú) Command
Ex. Fifi, Bring it! (the newspaper)
1) First we form an informal command out of our verb, Traer.
2) To turn this into an affirmative command, we take the third person singular form : Trae.
3) We now identify our direct object (DO) - the newspaper, el periódico. It is masculine and singular, so our pronoun is lo.
4) We attach lo directly onto trae to form our informal command to Fifi:
Fifi, ¡Tráelo!

5. Direct Object Pronouns with a Negative
Informal (Tú) Command
What if we want to tell Fifi not to bring in the paper?
1) First we take the same verb, Traer , and identify the first person singular (Yo ) form: Traigo
2) Now we remove the "o" which leaves us with traig -
3) And we add the opposite ending "as" to = Traigas.
4) Now, we take our direct object pronoun and place it directly before the command after the No.
And we tell Fifi: ¡No lo traigas!
