43 On July 11, 1944- the Allied leaders met in Potsdam, Germany to discuss terms of agreement German surrender took place in late April and early May 1945. Japan continued to reject the Potsdam terms, the United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in early August 1945. Japan surrenders August 15, 1945 and the war is over.
