4. Clarification on physicals In order to tryout You must have a Physical on file at the school or will turn in a 16-17 physical by March 4 th. If you have a current 15-16 physical on file, you can tryout in March without a new physical. you must have a new 16-17 physical before June 1 or you can not participate in any summer activities. physical forms are located on the Humble ISD website and we have a few copies here today

6. What are the procedures for tryouts? February 19 packet and $10 tryout fee due by 4:10, no exceptions. Bring to room 205 or 306. Principal Evaluation forms will be sent to Mrs. George once packet and tryout fee is turned in. (Principal Evaluation is part of scoring)

8. What do I wear for practices? -cheer shorts/athletic shorts -t-shirt with sleeves -athletic shoes -hair in pony tail -no jewelry -PE uniform is ok *you must be in dress code

9. What do I wear for tryouts? -royal blue cheer/athletic shorts -white t-shirt -white socks -white athletic shoes- -white sports bra -hair in pony tail with blue or white bow -no jewelry *PE outfit accepted

10. Judges, Score, Results How is the scoring done? -Principal Evaluation 15% -Cheer 30% -Dance 25% -Jumps 20% -Tumbling 10%

11. What does my principal evaluation include? Section 1: -1 pts if been sent to office -3 pts if assigned to Thursday -5 pts if assigned to iss -1 pt if n or U in conduct Section 2: -3 pts if ineligible Section 3: -2 pts if more than 2 unexcused absences

Candidate #’s will be posted on cheer webpage. numbers will be posted that evening numbers will not be posted on commons doors How many girls tryout? it varies.

16. Tryout Order At 4:30 tryouts start in groups of 3, candidates will perform the dance Afterwards… Individually candidates will go in separately and perform the following in this order: -Running tumbling/spirit in -Jumps -cheer Candidates must leave campus after individual tryout.

17. Parent to dos week of tryouts Practices and tryouts are closed, *Make sure your student has a ride home by 6:15 Monday-Wednesday Be supportive throughout the week, for it can be very stressful!

Commitment for squad members If your student makes the 2016-2017 Squad, be prepared for practices to start asap and money to be turned in asap Mandatory parent/cheerleader meeting march 23 rd 5pm $225 due at this time Mandatory uniform fitting March 29 th at 4:15 & 5:15 Practices: Mondays (starting April 4th) 4:15-5:30 AMS gym Wednesdays(starting May 4th) 4:30-5:30 Texas xtreme Summer camp June 12-15

19. What to remember: -Cheerleaders are held to a higher standard. We strictly follow the HISD Cheer handbook and UIL regulations. -Discipline and academic success are stressed -As a cheerleader, you are obligated to represent your school in an honorable fashion
