2 Cusbism's definition The definition of Cubism: It is a style from the twentieth century that influenced many artists. It was developed by Picasso and Braque in Paris, France. It was called “Analytical Cubism” from 1909 to Cubism is the style of many colors being flattened and seen in “multiple views.” Cubism art is to limit the subject and to “break down” the art into shapes. This will create a “pictorial space.” It is a very interesting art because you can also see it in different ways.

3 Albert Gleizes Autobiography Our first artist!
Albert Gleizes was born on December 8, 1881, in Paris. After finishing secondary school he worked in his father’s studio, in fabric design. Gleizes started to take his painting seriously after being in the army, from 1901 to In 1903 and 1904 he took part in the Salon d’Automne. Also in 1902 in Paris he “exhibited” his first art at the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. In 1910 he also participated in the the Salon des Indépendants, and the Jack of Diamonds in Moscow, in Paris. He commenced to write his first articles in Being partners with Metzinger, Albert Gleizes wrote “Du Cubism,” in Another even that took place in 1912 was that Gleizes helped found Section d’Or. Albert Gleizes passed away on June 23, 1953, in Avignon.

4 His Paintings This is a cubism painting by Albert Gleizes. It is an “oil on canvas” painting. It represents a woman, Madame Raymond Duchamp-Villon, with animals beside her. It was painted by albert in It was published in 2003 by the Artists Rights Society. This is also an oil on canvas painting by Gleizes. It only took him a year to finish it ( ). It shows an army doctor. It was also published in 2003 by the Artists Rights Society.

5 More paintings by Gleizes
This painting was painted by Albert Gleizes in It has lots of textures and different greens in it. It was at the “Musée National d'Art Moderne.” The painting to my right is another painting by as you know now, Albert Gleizes, the french cubist. To my eye it looks like a painting of a city. How about you? It was painted in 1920 and he says it’s a “Femme dans les maisons.”

6 THANK YOU:) Thank you for watching and come and explore our other cubist painter next which is Pablo Picasso!!!!!!! Julia, Kiranpreet & Allison

8 Biography on Picasso Our all time painter! “Young Pablo Picasso”
Pablo Picasso was born on October 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain. He recently passed away (well not so recent) on April, 8, His nationality was Spanish. His full name was Pablo Ruiz y Picasso. In 1939, (February 13) he published the cover of the Time magazine. Picasso was a Spanish painter and sculptor and was very much recognized by humans in the 20th first century. With Georges Braque, Picasso was known as the best “co-founder.” Picasso’s father was as well a painter working as a professor at the School of Fine Arts and Crafts. He was also a “a curator of a local museum.” Painting in oil and drawing were the two basic things that Picasso learned from his father. Picasso was brought in a family as the first child of José Ruiz y Blasco and María Picasso y López. Him now Our all time painter!

9 His paintings This is a painting that Picasso has named as the “Weeping Woman.” I think we made this name because she is really weeping, the character even has a tissue in its hand. As you can see it has many beautiful colors in it. This is a wonderful, extraordinary painting by Picasso and it is very special because it is a portrait of his mother. It is a pastel on paper painting made by him in It is now located in the “Museo Picasso, Barcelona, Spain.” I see beautiful texture in it. How about you?

10 More of his paintings This is an oil on canvas painting made, once again by Pablo Picasso in It is a painting of a “Barefoot Girl.” It is now located in the “Musée Picasso, Paris, France.” This is an oil on wood painting. This painted in 1903 was called “The Tragedy.” It is now located in the “The National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, USA.” As you can see I have found countless paintings by him and I couldn’t put them all but I hope you enjoy the ones that I picked.
