3. Miro’s Life He studied at La Lonja School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, and in 1918 set up his first individual exhibition in the Dalmau Galleries. He experimented with many artistic forms, such as engraving, lithography, water colors, pastels, and painting over copper, but his favourite type of painting was surrealist painting, abstract. In 1976 the Joan Miró Foundation Centre of Contemporary Art Study was officially opened in the city of Barcelona and in 1979, four years before his death, he was named Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Barcelona.

5. Picasso’s Life Pablo Ruiz Picasso was a Spanish painter, draughtsman, and sculptor. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) and Guernica (1937), his portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. Picasso demonstrated a lot of artistic talent in his early years, painting in a realistic manner, during the first decade of the twentieth century his style changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas. Pablo Picasso died on 8 April 1973 in Mougins, France, while he and his wife Jacqueline entertained friends for dinner.
