Understand the basic operation and identify different types of gearboxes and variable speed drives. Understand the basic operation and identify different types of friction, bearings and lubrication. Understand the basic operation and identify different types of gland seals. Understand the basic operation and identify different types of mechanical lock- out systems. Understand the basic operation and identify different types of valves. Individual or group training. Do self study to develop operation questions. Answers are obtained by discussions with production experts and plant investigation. 1.Learners are provided with relevant plant and equipment information / manuals. 2.Identify the different types of blowers, compressors, pumps and mixers gearboxes and variable speed drives bearings and lubrication systems gland seals mechanical lock-out systems, and valves in the plant used in the industry. 3.Study examples of the abovementioned equipment. 4.Have a discussion regarding the basic operation of each piece of equipment with a plant expert. 5.In a visit to the plant or workshop with an assessor, the learner identifies each of the mentioned equipment and explain their basic operation. Educational games
