Please be sure to sign up for the visits in the Guidance Office. College Visits will be listed on Family Connections. So check on-line daily. The schedule of college visits are also posted on the bulletin board outside of the Guidance Office on 1 st floor Colby.

It is YOUR responsibility to talk to teachers about recommendations. Most schools require 2 teacher recommendations Please do not request more than 2 – most schools will only read what they require. Make sure you read what each college requires for recommendations. Some schools require letters from specific subject areas.

The COMMON APPLICATION and Family Connection/NAVIANCE work together (so we can submit your transcripts and recommendations to your colleges) MUST DO’S: 1)After completing the EDUCATION section of the Common Application, please go to the MY COLLEGES tab and click on Recommenders/FERPA. You must complete the FERPA Release Authorization. The release authorization process will allow transcripts and recommendations to be submitted on your behalf through Naviance eDocs. The actual assignment of recommenders will be done in Family Connections/Naviance. So, if you haven’t already done so, ask you teachers for letters of recommendation. Then after they say yes, enter them into your Family Connections account.

Then go to your Family Connections account : Click on the COLLEGES tab Click on colleges I’m applying to Enter the email address that you used to create your COMMON APPLICATION ACCOUNT Click on Match. Hopefully this will match your Common Application and Family Connection accounts. If not, it will give you a message saying you need to complete more information in the Common Application (and it should give you a link).
