8. Technology When people find new ways to manipulate their environment. Discovery: new uses for existing elements. Invention: use of existing knowledge to create something that did not exists before

14. Diffusion When people borrow ideas, beliefs, and material objects from other society. The spreading of cultural traits from one society to another.

21. Physical Environment Droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, fires, tidal wave. People build dams, new construction materials. Shortage of a natural resource like gasoline impact society. Longer line to get gas. Bikes become an alternative
