5 JainLink and Local Jain Center Collaboration Jain Center Responsibility:  Promotes JainLink (sends JainLink information and places a link on their local website)  Appoints an individual or a team to work be admin for the JainLink-Jain Center Group  (optional) Shares emails of its members Jain Center Benefits:  Free  Full on-line secure access to all updated members database for the Center  Be able to form subgroups, blogs, etc.  Insure accurate membership information for publication in next North American Directory

6 JainLink – For individual Users Content:  Share, generate, archive  On-Line resources  News, events, blogs Form many active groups Get targeted information (for youths, mothers, leaders) Share best practices in Jain Centers Highly secure and managed

7 Benefits to Centers, Groups, Committees Instant groups  Blogs, photos, content, custom pages, news, events, etc.  Multiple group only administrators  Easy to add and share content Member management  Indiviual users manage their own membership  Users decide what information to share What Centers can do  Emails, group mgm.  Surveys / Quizzes  Email high quality newsletters  Have their websites linked to this  Highlight all committee members Secure  Individual log in and control

8 Who has rights to data? Who is responsible for JainLink:  JAINA – Long Range Planning Committee  Partners in JainLink include: other centers, organizations, groups, etc. Who owns the data:  JAINA. Individual centers that have shared their mailing list jointly own the data for their Jain Center If JainLink / JAINA decides to not support this, what happens to the data  Data can be exported to Excel spread sheet. There will be no loss of data. Who will JainLink information be shared with  JAINA  Local Jain Centers for only their members Will the members be bombarded with emails, solicitations, etc.  No. Plan is for a newsletter 1x per month and any current/urgent relevant information.  Individuals can control if they want  Group administrators will manage their own groups

9 Security, Privacy – key to mass adoption JainLink has a high degree on security and privacy features  It’s up to us to establish policies which everyone buys into Individuals control his/her own profile, “visibility” to others  Other than name and e-mail, all other profile items can be hidden by individuals  Only approved centers/organizations can access other information Individual “GROUP” controls it’s own privacy policy JainLink will establish strict policy for administrators – work in progress  Initial policy must be blessed by legal and participating organizations  Multiple layers of approval required for any change in access rights  Propose to recruit a team of technical expert in this area from our community

12 Connect – Communicate - Collaborate Connect  With family, friends, people of similar interest  Example: Physicians, Cisco, from Surat, India, mix marriage groups Communicate  Form groups  Generate and consume content (news, events, audio, video, updates, etc.) Collaborate  Work on projects  Get volunteers  Example: High school presentation, develop Jain material, etc.
