2. Genre/sub Genre My main genre will be heavy metal and the sub genre metal core. I chose this genre because i am interested in heavy metal and listen to this type of music, and there aren't many music magazines based on this genre of music.

Name/Tagline Name: ETM - Escape to Metal I chose the name ETM for my magazine because people use music to escape from the out side world, music allows us to drift away from reality and everything that’s going on the world, it takes our mind off of issues, music lets us have our ‘me time’ to just zone out… Tagline ideas: Escape Into The Music or Music is your escape…

5. Audience The target audience for my music magazine are people aged 18 and under as I am going to use metal core music aimed at this age group, who have an interest in metal music and listen to bands such as ‘bullet for my valentine’, ‘escape the fate’ and more.

6. Ideas for front cover I have looked at a music magazine called AP ‘alternate press’ which i like the look of and the layout. For my front cover i like the idea of using black, red and white as a colour scheme, like ‘AP’s’ Panic at the disco cover, I really like the dark background with and the red text really stands out. AP magazine is a rough idea of what I would like my cover to look like, the text is surrounding the main image and doesn’t over crowd it this also helps you to see the image and text separately and clearly. I really like the style/layout of this magazine and I would like to include the bold text and strong image into my music cover…

7. Readers Profile The reader is a female student around the age of 16 – 18 with a part time job at a department store. Who is currently studying Art, Music,History and English at sixth from and enjoys playing the guitar and learning the drums in her free time. She likes spending time with her friends and going to music festivals like Reading, Sonisphere and more during the holidays. She has an interest in heavy metal music and does covers of bands she listens to e.g. ‘Bullet for My Valentine’ which she has recently started listening to and ‘As I Lay Dying’. Now that she is coming to her last year of sixth from and nearing Universality, she is busy with course work and exams so has little time to catch up with the latest music and wants to discover new artists in the heavy metal industry and is looking for a way to catch up with music and discover new bands with out having to spend a fortune…

8. unique selling point My music magazine is focusing on music for the minority as there are only a few metal magazines available. Escape magazine wont only be looking at popular metal core bands and artists but more unrecognised ones and will be bringing new artists into the spotlight for their chance to show us what they can bring to the music industry. Escape will be offering competitions to win signed goods, concert tickets and much more. There will also be exclusive interviews with different artists each week and we will be giving people the chance to write a Column for the magazine.

9. Editorial Mission Statement Escape wants to give fans the latest music news, interviews, band guides, reviews, releases, and much more. What Escape magazine wants is what the fans and readers want from the magazine so that Escape can provide the best possible magazine for you…
